East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) provides essential care for children and young people with life-threatening illnesses, and supports families across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
Donnelly Watson was approached by EACH to fit new safety flooring for its Treehouse hospice in Ipswich. Anti-slip flooring was required in all areas of the hospice in order to provide a safe environment for children.
After meeting staff at the hospice and discussing how we could meet their needs, we decided that the best option for the Treehouse was Altro Wood Safety flooring, a low-slip vinyl design which prevents slipping and is easy to clean and maintain.
When undertaking this work, the health and comfort of the children was our number one priority. Not only did this mean the work had to be structured around the children’s timetables, but with the conditions of the children changing on a daily basis, it also saw the timescale for the job pushed back on a number of occasions.
These challenges aside, we still managed to complete the work within the requested time frame, leaving the Treehouse with the safe, welcoming flooring it needed. EACH was happy with the standard of work delivered and the fact that it allowed for an easy transition between the old and new flooring.
