We will be closed for the Christmas period from Saturday 21st December until Thursday 2nd January, inclusive.
Wishing all of our customers a restful festive season and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
In May 2019, Donnelly Watson installed brand new flooring in the clubhouse at Ipswich Golf Club, one of the oldest golf courses in East Anglia and ranked among the top 100 courses in England.
The club was looking to freshen up the clubhouse’s bar and restaurant but without straying too far from the course’s tradition and heritage. With no preference for specific brands, the client asked us to recommend a good-quality commercial carpet for the seating areas, along with a stylish, durable brand of hard flooring for the bar.
It was important that the carpet complemented the style and colour of the furniture, which varied between blue and grey hues. With this in mind, we selected Fazeley Twist Cut (Denim 4435) from JHS, a high-quality cut pile carpet that brought a neutral yet contemporary look to the space.
Karndean’s Knight Tile (T101 Jura) LVT was the perfect choice for the front of the bar, with the brown tiles working well against the wooden frontage and blue tones in the carpet. Behind the bar, Altro Walkway safety flooring was selected for its hard-wearing and low-slip qualities.
Laying multiple flooring types side by side always presents a challenge, especially when there’s a variation in thickness, which was the case with this job. Through careful measurement and screeding, we built the heights to ensure all levels were the same, with precision work also required to fit the Gradus curve bar around the bar area. However, these challenges didn’t impact our ability to complete the job on time and to a high standard.
